It’s Halloween!
Did October FLY by or is it just me?! I can not believe we are in November already!
This past month we had so much going on… mainly Halloween stuff LOL. We ended up signing up for 2 trunk or treats, which were an absolute blast to do! We also did a lot of fun Fall activities. Now let me tell you when I chose the 101 Dalmatians I had no idea there was a new movie that had just come out… I was wondering why all of the kid puppy ears were sold out…
Mifflin YMCA 2021
The first trunk or treat that we did was at the Breakfast Hut (4170 Perkiomen Ave, Reading, PA 19606). We had spent hours upon hours getting 500 treat bags ready to go for all of the trick or treaters! I also put together about 100 parent bags as well. When we got to the trunk or treat we had about a half hour to set up and then BOOM, the gates opened and people started to flood in!
I could NOT believe how many people showed up to the trunk or treat! Within 1.5 hours I ran out of my kid bags and had to hand out candy piece by piece. Even in doing that I completely ran out a half hour before the event ended! There must have been over 1,000 people there. This event was so successful and everyone had a ton of fun. I can not wait to do it again next year!
The next trunk or treat that we did was at the Mifflin YMCA (140 Chestnut St, Mohnton, PA 19540). This time I was prepared… I knew what to expect. I wasn’t going into this one blind. I again, prepared about 200 kids bags, 100 parent bags and had A LOT of loose candy to give out.
We were one of the first people to arrive, we grabbed a great spot next to the firetrucks and first responder vehicles and started to set up. Well.. I set up, Alana ran around the jeep like a crazy person barking like a dog.
As the trunk or treat started to slow down, the organizers came over and informed me that we had won the trunk or treat contest! (I had no idea there was even a contest… LOL) But WOOO HOOOO we won!
Overall, this Halloween season was a HUGE success. I was able to connect with so many different people over the past two weeks. Seeing all the smiles on the faces of little monsters, witches and Fortnite characters completely made it all worth it!
We ended the month with a mini camping trip up north with family. Alana had so much fun seeing all of her cousins, aunts, uncles and grandparents. Overall it was a great month full of fun activities!
How did you spend your Halloween weekend?
